16.03.2007 - Bachelor's Degree
Hey folks,
after 4 months of pure stress I finally got my Bachelor Degree. Yeaha!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN it feels so good :D.
As I said months ago I did a 3d Animation about a little dragon called flin who has fear of heights (Acrophobia). The movie is about 5:45 minutes long and is in HD720p.
I still got work to do till I can send it to some film festivals cuz I didn't manage to finish the sound so it will take some time till I will post it here but I will show some pictures and screens meanwhile.

Hey folks,
I'm pretty busy at the moment.
Don't really have time to drop some new stuff or working on the new Version of this site. Sorry!
I'm working on my final project for the Bachelor of Art. Wanna do a 3-D Animation-Movie. Well I already have the story. Next step will be the characterdesign and the storyboard. After that I will start modeling and the animation in maya.
Deadline it 1st February 07. I really hope I can hand in till then :).

11.08.06 - Off on vacation for 2 weeks
One thing we are going to do on vacation is to visit the concentration camp "Auschwitz". We will go there on Monday and for that reason I borrowed my girlfriends Camera. I'll also take shots with my Sony DSC-W1 but I wanna play a bit with a classic Camera cuz they can capture the moment better than digital Cameras. I didn't wanna borrow her D-SLR (a Nikon D70) cuz that Camera is way to expensive to give it into my hands LOL. So I grabbed her Minolta Dynax 500sl with a Tamron Wide Angle Objective to make some B&W shots in Auschwitz. As I practiced with the Camera I started to have fun again with shooting photos with a classic Camera. So I decided to also play a little bit around with my classic Camera - a Zenit 12XP.

Zenit is a Russian camera brand manufactured by the KMZ factory (Krasnogorskiy Mekhanicheskiy Zavod) near Moscow since 1952 and by BelOMO in Belarus since the 1970s. The Zenit trademark is primarily associated with 35mm SLR cameras. Amongst related brands are Zorki for 35mm rangefinder cameras, Moskva (Moscow) for medium-format folding cameras and Horizon for panoramic cameras.
The name is sometimes spelled Zenith in English literature, such as the manuals published by the UK Zenit-importers TOE. (Confusingly, the imported camera bodies retained the original "Zenit" badges.)
Well, where was I.....ah yeah, so I took some shots with my old baby and wow...I totally forgot how much fun it is to shoot with this camera. This Camera is so crazy. Since it is so heavy (850g) u can actually feel the camera. The sound of the shutter is like when u push the throttle of n v8 LOL. It is so much fun. How could I forget this feeling? After few shots I decided to also take this camera with me to Auschwitz. They are both awesome :D.
I think I will use the Minolta Dynax 500sl for B&W Photos and the Zenit 12XP for Color Photos. Since I have no light meter I will use the Sony DSC-W1 as an alternative light meter to see which setting I have to use. I hope thats gonna work. Well I think I need to buy a light meter as fast as possible!
Last but not least, here are the 2 babies I'm talking about - Aren't they beautiful? :D
BTW - Well, since I'm on vacation for 2 weeks I will put the Messagebox offline cuz i don't wanna have spams which fucks up my layout.

21.07.2006 - Some brief news
Well just thought to write something that u guys see that I am still alive. Just finished my project for school. The biggest one was the Video-Animation-Project that took us over 4 months work. Its an 10 minutes 2D and 3D movie called "Zeichen der Zeit (Signs of time)" about some local historical facts. We were 8 people in this project and we used a bunch of Adobe Programs such as AfterEffets, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Encore but also other programs like Cinema4D and Poser, Sony Acid & Soundforge etc.
Well I could try to put it online but it is in german and i guess most of u are from foreign countries and so it would make no sense to publish it. But maybe i will do it later.
Anyway we finished this project with an "A" which is fucking awesome and the best award for weeks of hard work and countless sleepless nights!
Now I think I will have some time so work on Version 4 of thecolos.de and i hope I can finish it before next term. Well, we will see!!.
btw - still now progress in the Area51 (the members section for those of u who aren't registered). There is just no time to work on it. Im sorry about it. I am as unhappy about this situation as u are!!!

This is our last week in New Zealand and it makes us very sad cuz we started to love this country, the poeple and their mentality. We've met so many people and some of them become friends. We have seen so much, so many beautiful places, so many cool people and it went deep into our minds and hearts.
Now, we have a lot of things to sort out before we can fly back to germany so we are pretty busy at the moment. 5 days left and we are back in germany, back in the cold & back into the old routine. I don't wanna leave - thats why i'll come back soon!

Hope you guys had a good start in the new Year. My one was fucking awesome. We've been on the Phat '06 Festifal near by Motoeka(i hope i got i right)/NZ. Weed, music, chicks and sunshine over 3 days. It was like heaven :)
As you can see, i still got no time to start working on new artworks - we're still travelling.

... life is just a fucking piece of shit but at the end there is a happy ending!

In my last journal i told u about what happened to us with our van etc.
That we bought a van for 3500NZ$, that the engine fucked up, that we brought the van to a garage and that they tried to fix the van but they couldn't but that we had to pay 1800NZ$ anyway for the work and materials they have allready put in the van. Either we pay 1800 or we leave them the van.
In the last few weeks we talked to the legal advice and to a lawyer but the only way to get than van back would be to pay the 1800 first andwaste
to sue them after to get some of the money back. There is no other way. You have to pay first and then you can sue them. That's the proper way.
Well, this would take time and time is something we don't really have. We have only 4 months left here in New Zealand and we don't wanna waste our time with things like that.
So we decided to leave them the van and to buy a new van. This sounds easier as it is. We've spent the last 2 Weeks just for searching for a new van. This time our limit was 2900NZ$ cuz we can't afford more without shorting our visit in New Zealand. We've searched everywhere - in trademe.co.nz, in Newspapers, in Backpackers etc. but all the van we've found were either to expensive or just dirty crap. It was really frustrating. At the end of the last week i couldn't be fucked to search anymore.
Our last hope was the "carfair" in Auckland which is every sunday. People that wanna sell their ride can go to the "carfair" and try to get rid of their ride there.
So we went to this "carfair" and searched for van. But is was really disappointing - all the vans there were mostly beyond our limit and the only one which was for 2700 was crap. My flatmate Kathrin had a chat with one of the sellers there and she told him about our bad luck with our last van etc.
After a time me and my other flatmate Nora also joined this chat. An other seller was listening to this conversation and still during th this chat he grabbed me and showed me his van and said he wants to sell it for 4500NZ$ but we could have it for 2900NZ$ cuz he felt sorry for us. It was unbelievable. I thought that must be a dream :). I did a test ride and a friend of us checked the van but everything was OK so we decided to buy it :).
Now, we have a pretty reliable van with enough space for all of us.
In the next day im gonna put a basement for the mattress so that we can start travelling around New Zealand. We are so happy now that the search for a van is over now and that we can start travelling finally. :)

Do u know situations like this. Everyting is going perfect but out of the blue everyhting changes and bad news is hitting u like a fucking punch in the face. It was too good, too perfect, too easy to be real.
A few weeks ago my van broke down. Some fucking probs with the radiator. Cuz of that the engine went too hot and that fucked the engine. Well, like i said "life is just a fucking piece of shit.".
Ok that can happen. It would be very naive to expect something else. I mean the van is 15 years old so what do u expect?!.
The short story -> We brought the van to a garage and they told us they could fix the van for 1800 NZ$ (1000-1100Euro). We said ok, if there is nothing more and they can fix the van do it. This is already 5 weeks ago.
Now, they called us yesterday and told us they've found another crack in the engine. WTF - they told us first that they found 1 crack (after they checked the engine) and that it will cost 1800 bucks to fix it and now they try to tell us that they've found another crack? That sounds like they wanna diddle us.
But wait, the best thing is - they said to fix the van they will need to buy a new engine but either way we have to pay 1800NZD for the work they have already done. Unbelievable - i mean the deal was they COULD fix it for 1800 bucks. But now they say they cannot fix it but we have to pay anyway? Can u explain that to me? I don't get it.

11.10.2005 - Time is runnin' so fast
It's so sick,
i've been here in NZ for 3months now and it feels to me just like 1. Time is runnin so fast. You think back and you're wondering what's happen with the fuckin' time. It's seems to me that nz time is runnin' faster than german time.
Well, ive still got 1 month to study and then the bright side of life gonna rule the last 4 month of my nz trip. I'm a bit sad about that cause i've met a bunch of amazing guys and we still have a lot of fun together. Saying good by will be quit hard. But on the other side I'm quite excited travelling around NZ and just enjoying the landscape. That'll be a great experience for me.

The Pope is dead, it´s so unbelievable. The News are full with it.

Tonight while maintenance on the site all news from the 01.01.2005 to the 24.01.2005 get lost. I tried to recover the news but no chance. Damn, i hate this.
Everything is very hectic at the moment. I´ve got a lot things to do. I have to make my portfolio for a madia design school in New Zealand where i will spend 20 weeks from July 3rd and learn 3D animations technics.
Second, practical training is very stressful too. Got a lot of work and so on.
I put a login online. Only for admin at the moment beacause it is only online for testings.
In the next 2 weeks i will go over all link exchange requests and i will decide which of them i will put online. Please be patient - i will give you notice.
